Promotion in Health Facilities and Health Workers
Avenue Nestlé 55
At a maternity home in Kalingrad, Russia, an informational poster placed on the clinic wall supposedly to educate mothers on hand washing procedures before preparing food and feeding the baby is subtly used to promote Nestlé PreNAN® FМ 85. The PreNAN® FМ 85 is purportedly a “breast milk fortifier intended for use in the hospital for feeding premature babies and babies with low birth weight” (retrieved from https://www.nestlebaby.ru/products/prenan-fm85, accessed on 25 January, 2019).
On the poster, the product is promoted as a “complex enrichment of breastmilk”- idealising statement that undermines breastfeeding.
Health care facilities are frequently used as exhibition venues for promotion of Nestlé products
